The British School of Kampala was born out of the growing need to give every child their lawful entitlement to a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum, providing a positive context for learning which gives them a measure of success and self-esteem. We aim to create an environment where learning is both natural and enjoyable.
At The British School of Kampala we encourage independent learning and the use of initiative at all times. In addition, The British School aims to stretch all pupils, from those with learning difficulties through to our high achievers. The school has an exceptionally low pupil teacher ratio and maximum class sizes of 24 pupils.
To create a happy, fun-learning environment that facilitates internationally recognized and updated curricular programs while catering for the social and emotional needs of learners from varied backgrounds.
To be a learning environment where students discover and fully develop their potential in order to flourish as skilled, confident and responsible trendsetters with full understanding and respect for themselves and the rapidly changing world.
Beyond the classroom, extra-curricular activities play a central role and offer the ideal arena to develop both leadership and team-workskills. Children enjoy expeditions and field-trips frequently, and there are numerous clubs to choose from (on average 7 a day).
We believe in bringing out the best in every child. Structure and routine create a sence of security and create a foundation for the balanced child. Results are important, but above and beyond that is helping each child to progress and exceed all expectations.
The British School is a happy place with secure, confident, happy children. There is an ethos of children taking care of each other and there is around the clock support and care from staff.
